It started with our kids. Like most toddlers, ours loved rewatching their favorite videos. But YouTube meant ads, algorithms, and content we didn't choose. Rewatching online burned through our internet quota on something we could have downloaded once.

We tried Plex, Jellyfin, USB sticks, and AirPlay. Nothing worked everywhere. So we built Zee Cast. Named after our daughter Zeina.
