Zee Cast ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Zee Cast handles your information when you use our iOS, iPadOS, or Android application.
Data Collection
The Zee Cast mobile app does not collect personal data for Zee Cast. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or process any of the following:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
- Device identifiers (UDID, advertising ID)
- Location data
- Usage analytics or statistics
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- Your videos, photos, or media files
- Browsing history or app usage patterns
How Zee Cast Works
Zee Cast is a local media server that shares selected media from your device across your local Wi-Fi network:
- Media Access: The app accesses media only when you select it or grant the relevant permission provided by iOS, iPadOS, or Android.
- Local Network: The app uses your local Wi-Fi network to stream media to DLNA/UPnP compatible devices (smart TVs, media players, etc.).
- No Zee Cast Cloud Upload: Zee Cast does not upload your selected media to Zee Cast servers.
- Local Sharing: Core sharing happens on the local network. Store purchases, restores, cloud-only file downloads, and some device services may still require internet access.
Data Storage
All data created by Zee Cast is stored locally on your device:
- Collections: Your media collections and organization preferences are stored locally using storage mechanisms provided by iOS, iPadOS, or Android.
- Settings: App settings such as display name, port, auto-start preference, and approved devices are stored locally on your device.
- No Zee Cast Cloud Sync: Zee Cast does not provide cloud sync for collections or selected media.
Network Communication
Core Zee Cast media sharing communicates on your local Wi-Fi network:
- DLNA/UPnP Protocol: The app uses industry-standard DLNA/UPnP protocols to advertise itself on your local network and serve media to compatible devices.
- Store Services: Apple App Store or Google Play services may process purchase and entitlement information under their own terms when you buy or restore Pro.
- No Tracking: We do not use any analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs that collect data.
Permissions
Zee Cast requests only permissions required for selecting media, accessing the local network, and continuing an active sharing session where the operating system permits it:
- Media Access: To allow you to select videos, photos, and supported audio to add to collections.
- Local Network Access: To advertise Zee Cast and communicate with compatible DLNA/UPnP devices on your Wi-Fi network.
- Background Sharing: To keep an active sharing session available while you use other apps, using the mechanisms provided by iOS, iPadOS, or Android.
These permissions are used solely for the app's functionality and do not enable any data collection.
Third-Party Services
The Zee Cast mobile app does not integrate with advertising networks or analytics platforms. App Store and Google Play purchase services process Free-to-Pro purchases under their own terms and privacy policies.
Website Analytics and Campaign Measurement
This privacy policy page and the Zee Cast marketing website are separate from the mobile app. The website uses a self-hosted Umami analytics service and Google Ads measurement to understand page visits, traffic sources, campaign parameters, section engagement, FAQ opens, and clicks to the App Store or Google Play.
- No media access: Website analytics cannot access the videos, photos, audio, or collections inside the Zee Cast app.
- Campaign data: The website may process referral URLs and campaign identifiers such as UTM parameters, GCLID, or FBCLID when they are present in a visit URL.
- Advertising providers: Google may process website measurement data under its own privacy terms. Future advertising platforms will be disclosed here before their tracking is enabled.
Children's Privacy
Zee Cast does not create user profiles or collect personal data for Zee Cast, including from children. A parent or guardian controls the media selected on the device and the collections made visible to local players.
Your Rights
The Zee Cast mobile app does not create a Zee Cast account or upload a personal profile. You maintain complete control over:
- Which media you add to collections (stored locally on your device)
- When sharing is active (you can turn sharing on or off at any time)
- Which devices can access your media (limited to your local network)
To completely remove all app data, simply delete the Zee Cast app from your device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Since the app does not collect data, changes will likely be minor clarifications.
